How long does it take?
Most cases take between 6 and 18 months, depending on how far your teeth need to move. Dr Priti gives you an estimate at your consultation. You wear the aligners for 22 hours a day.
Invisible, removable, and led by a consultant.
Invisalign aligners are thin, clear trays that fit snugly over your teeth. You take them out to eat, drink anything but water, and brush, and put them back in straight after, for 22 hours a day. Each set moves your teeth a little further, and an iTero 3D scan at your consultation shows you the predicted result before you start.
Your treatment is planned and led by Dr Priti Acharya, who treats complex cases at the Eastman Dental Hospital and trains orthodontic specialists. That matters, because aligners are only as good as the plan behind them. We are an Invisalign Gold Provider, and adults who complete treatment with us receive a course of home whitening.

Your Invisalign treatment, step by step
- 01ConsultationDr Priti examines your teeth and bite, takes an iTero scan and tells you whether Invisalign will work for you.
- 02Your planA digital plan shows how your teeth will move and the result you can expect. You approve it before anything is made.
- 03AlignersYour aligners are made and fitted, with small tooth-coloured attachments where needed. You change sets every one to two weeks.
- 04ReviewsRegular check-ups with Dr Priti to make sure the teeth are tracking to plan.
- 05RetainersRetainers hold your teeth in their new positions. Wear them as advised, usually at night, for the long term.
Is Invisalign the right system for you?
Invisalign suits mild to moderate crowding, spacing and misalignment in adults and teenagers, and more complex cases in experienced hands. For one or two teeth that need a small move, generic clear aligners cost far less. For some bites, fixed braces are faster or more predictable. Dr Priti uses the full range and will recommend the one that fits your case, not the one with the biggest name.

Risks and what to expectExpect pressure and some discomfort for a day or two after each new set of aligners, and a slight lisp at first that passes within days. Treatment only works if the aligners are worn for 22 hours a day; missed wear extends treatment or stops it working. Attachments can be visible close up. As with any orthodontic treatment, teeth can move back afterwards, so retainers are essential for the long term. Tooth roots can shorten slightly during any tooth movement, and gums and teeth must be kept clean throughout. Results cannot be guaranteed and complex cases may need refinements.

Will Invisalign affect my speech?
You may have a slight lisp for the first few days while you get used to the aligners. It passes quickly.
How long do I need to wear the aligners each day?
22 hours a day. You take them out to eat, to drink anything other than water, to brush and for contact sport, and put them back as soon as you can.
What should I do if I lose an aligner?
Contact us as soon as possible. Wear the previous set in the meantime so your teeth do not move back, and Dr Priti will advise whether to move on to the next set or replace the lost one.
How long does Invisalign treatment take?
Most cases finish within 6 to 18 months. A straightforward case is faster; teeth that need more movement take longer. You get an estimate for your own treatment at your consultation.
Will I need to wear retainers afterwards?
Yes. Retainers keep your teeth in their new positions and stop them drifting back. Most patients wear them at night, for the long term. Vivera retainers come in sets of three.
What does Invisalign Gold Provider mean?
Invisalign grades providers by the number of cases they complete. As a Gold Provider we treat many Invisalign patients each year, and your treatment is led by a Consultant Orthodontist.
